When was the last time you were truly present without your phone?Â
We are becoming aware of how constant screen time impacts our nervous system, attention span, sleep, and ability to stay grounded in the moment.
Our devices are designed to keep us scrolling, but we were never designed to be constantly stimulated.
It’s not just about screen time, it’s about reclaiming our power and the subtle energy that gets scattered every time we scroll.
A digital detox isn’t about rejecting technology, it’s about coming back into balance. It’s a practice to pause, reset, and realign to our natural rhythm.
There are many benefits of a digital detox. People often share feeling less anxious, more focused, and energized.Â
Creating ‘no-phone zones’ or setting screen-free times, even briefly, can lead to meaningful shifts.
It was my nephew who reminded us how simple it could be. While playing a board game, he suggested we all drop our phones in a bowl. We were together, present, fully there.
The best way to start a digital detox is to start small. Choose one hour a day to be completely offline—no scrolling, no checking. Maybe it’s right when you wake up or just before bed. You could also dedicate one day a week to nature, movement, or meaningful conversation without your phone nearby.
When we remove the noise, our nervous system has space to regulate, our creativity flows easier, and we feel more connected—not just to others, but to ourselves.
If you’re curious to see what might shift for you, try a 7-day cleanse:Â
Reduce screen time— set time limits
Turn off non-essential notifications
Keep your phone out of the bedroom
A digital detox helps us return to our authentic energy, and from here we can better choose what we truly want to tune into.
Technology can be a powerful tool, but only if we’re the ones using it—not the other way around. Our energy is sacred.
