Chai Tea (caffeine-free)

All the flavor, all the spice, with none of the caffeine! This cozy, caffeine-free chai is perfect for any time of day. It’s made to share, so grab one mug for yourself and one for a loved one.


Ingredients (serves 2):


5 cups, 40 oz. of water (you’ll lose some water)

1 inch piece of ginger root, sliced/ grated/ cut into pieces

1 piece of vanilla bean (I take about a nail size) sliced thin

2 star anise

1/2 tsp cinnamon powder or 1 stick 

1/2 tsp cardamom powder

1/2 tsp nutmeg powder  

1/2 tsp fennel seeds, crush before adding

1/2 tablespoon of rooibos tea


Instructions:

  1. In a medium saucepan, add all the ingredients.

  2. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to a simmer for 15 minutes.

  3. The whole house will smell amazing!

  4. Strain the chai and pour into mugs.

  5. Add milk and honey ;)

  6. Sip, relax, and enjoy!
